We've had a number of old growth Hackberrys come down in straight line winds on the farm in the last few years. I was originally skeptical of using it for anything other than firewood, but found some research that anything slabbed over 4" would hold true.
 
The spalting is beautiful and the edge quite interesting. We'll see how it turns out. Currently 9'x4.25"x16" but will end up around 72"x4"x~15".
